I've long had the idea of a "text" adventure using a deck building system to determine the player input. Here's the progress I've made on the prototype. There's a lot more I had for ideas with it, but wanted to keep the general scope to just playing cards and changing the text shown.

Wasn't too worried about the "story" specifics yet, but had fun coming up with the scenarios and followup that occurred.  There certainly was a big challenge with limiting story states, as each new state led to a series of additional scenarios, based on the number of cards available.

Let me know what you think and what ideas you have from a design/mechanics standpoint.

Current ideas I have include - all are subject to change based on scope and feasibility:

  • Player Classes to determine deck/card options
  • Storyboard images along with the text on screen
